Do I Have To Pay A Deposit For My Stay?

To guarantee your reservation we require a deposit equal to 50% of the cost for your total stay, with the remaining amount due upon check in. The deposit is taken 14 days prior to check-in which is our cancellation policy and if the reservation is cancelled within the 14 days your deposit is forfeited. If we are unable for any reason to take the deposit you will be contacted via phone and email. We will hold the reservation for 24 hours and at that time if we have not been able to take the deposit your reservation will be canceled.

What If I Need To Cancel My Reservation?

Due to the uncertainty of COVID all guests are advised to purchase travel insurance.

A full refund of your deposit (minus any booking fees charged by third party booking services) will be available for cancellations made 14 days in advance of your reservation arrival date. All refunds will be provided as a credit to the credit card used at the time of purchase. Same Day bookings require full payment at time of booking. These charges are non-refundable.

Our road is an emergency evacuation route and is well maintained. Weather and/or road conditions are not a reason for cancellation. You may require a vehicle with 4WD or chains during winter storms.

Cancellations within the cancellation period are NON-REFUNDABLE regardless of reason with the exception of exposure to or contracting COVID. We ask that you not visit the Lodge if you have any Coronavirus symptoms, feel unwell or if you have been in contact with a symptomatic person or with someone who has tested positive.  We can reschedule your visit with a nominal rescheduling fee of $50 plus tax. Rescheduled reservations are NON-REFUNDABLE and cannot be rescheduled again.

Cancellations that on the same day of the scheduled check-in date will be charged for the full stay regardless of reason including COVID.

What Happens If I Don’t Show Up On My Check-In Date?

The full cost may be charged to the card on file if you fail to notify us of a cancellation prior to the reservation arrival date.

When and How Do I Check In and Check Out?

Our check in time is between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm on the date of arrival, and check out time is no later than 11:00 am on the date of departure. We will make every effort to personalize our guests’ stays if estimated time of arrival is provided at time of reservation. Early arrival and Late checkout requests may be made through the front desk only, and are subject to determination based on our occupancy. Additional charges may apply.

Do you allow pets?

We are happy to have you bring up to two of your furry family members (dogs only) to stay with you during your visit in either our Carefree room or Bountiful Cabin. In fact, we have a “Bring Your Dog To The Lodge” package for just that purpose. There is a $30 additional cleaning charge per dog.

Dogs must be on a leash while on the property and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog.

Any damage to linens, towels or the room by your dog will incur a damage fee equal to the cost of repair/replacement plus the full charge of revenue loss for any reservations which must be cancelled due to violation of the pet policy.

How many people can the lodge accommodate?

The lodge can sleep up to 31 people from Memorial day through Labor Day and 29 the rest of the time.  Just give us a call at +1 303-674-7467, or send an email to [email protected] and we’ll be more than happy to go over our options with you.

Does my room have a private bathroom?

Every room at the lodge has it’s own private bathroom with a shower.

Our Gracious and Farmhouse rooms have tubs as well and the tub in Gracious is jetted.

Can I smoke at the Lodge?

All indoor spaces at the Alpen Way Chalet Mountain Lodge are 100% non-smoking. This includes vaping and toking.

There is also no smoking of any kind allowed in the hot tub.

There are planters with sand near each room and by each common area for smoking materials. Due to our dry conditions, please be sure to put out all smoking materials in these planters and not on the grounds.

Any guest found violating the smoking policy in any of our indoor spaces will incur an additional $250 deep cleaning charge plus the full charge of revenue loss for any reservations which must be cancelled due to violation of our smoking policy.

What about breakfast?

While we don’t serve breakfast here at the lodge, we can recommend many great restaurants in the downtown area (1/2 mile away) that serve great breakfasts (as well as lunch and dinner options).

Does my room have a fireplace?

Our Bountiful CabinCarefreeEnchanted, Farmhouse, and Gracious rooms all have free standing Gas Stove Fireplaces. Our Jubilee Suite has a beautiful floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace.

All fireplaces are controlled by a thermostat so there is nothing to touch on the fireplace itself.

Does my room have Air Conditioning?

Our CarefreeGracious, Enchanted, and Jubilee Suite have air conditioning in the summer months.

Does my room have a kitchen?

Each of our rooms has a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave oven, and coffee maker. 
Our 3 suites (AffinityDaisy, and Jubilee) and the Bountiful Cabin each feature a full kitchen with range\oven and full-size refrigerator.

What about a hot tub or spa?

Every guest at the lodge has access to our shared hot tub at the back of the property, but our Gracious room has it’s own private jetted bath tub.

Are there barbecue grills available?

Each of our suites (AffinityDaisy and Jubilee) and our Bountiful cabin have their own gas grill. Please let us know if you are planning on using the grill so we can be sure they are cleaned, fueled and ready.

We only ask that you turn off the propane when not in use.

The large grill and smoker near the chicken coop is NOT available for quest use.

I think I saw something about Fire Pits?

Yep, we have a nice deck with super comfortable seating around our common area fire pit on the front lawn as well as a private fire pit for guests in the Enchanted room up on their deck.

Do you provide daily room servicing?

We do not enter our guests rooms once they are checked in. Rooms are stocked with supplies based on the number of nights staying. Guests can request additional supplies by calling the office and the supplies will be left in a goody bag outside the room. Any stays of more than a week we can provide fresh linens and towels if requested.

What about local transportation, do I need to rent a car?

While Evergreen has no actual taxi service, and Uber and Lyft are unreliable up here in the mountains, there is a great ride service available in town. Ride is a very reliable way to get around, but you need to plan ahead and give them as much notice of your transportation needs as possible. Give them a call at (303) 564-5858.

Can I book the cabin or one of the suites to have a small party with the people staying there?

In room parties are not permitted and our quiet hours between 11PM to 8AM will be strictly enforced.

Can I have visitors while I am staying at the lodge?

Only guests on the guest registration are permitted on lodge property unless express permission is received from the lodge owners or an event contract has been agreed with the lodge owners in advance.

Are you close to Evergreen Lake?

We’re about a half mile from just about one of the most beautiful parks in the world (at least it is in our opinion),  Evergreen Lake. The lake is host to many great activities all year long, from paddle boarding, canoeing, fishing, and kayaking in the summer, to skating and ice fishing in the winter. 
If you walk out your front door, it’s just over 2 miles to walk all the way around the lake and back again to the lodge, but we usually stop off at Cactus Jack’s for a beer on the way back, so it does take a bit longer than you’d expect.

How close are you to Red Rocks?

The amazing Red Rocks Amphitheater is located in Morrison and is about a 20 minute drive from the lodge.  We can help arrange transportation to the venue and back to the lodge if you’d like. Just give us a call at +1 303-674-7467, or send an email to [email protected] for more information.

How far are you from “The Little Bear”?

For those that don’t know, we have a rather famous saloon here in the Heart of Evergreen named The Little Bear Saloon. But then, if you’re asking this question, you probably already know that.  We’re just a half mile or 10 minute walk from the saloon at the center of Historic Downtown Evergreen.
